The capital of the Fatimids, founded in 912 by Obaid Allah Almadi, is an ancient Carthaginian trading post and a fishing village, also known as the city of weavers. This peninsula has been highly sought after for years by tourists attracted by its long sandy beach, beautiful sea, and historical monuments. It is considered the second capital of the Muslim community after Kairouan.
